Automatic wavelength recognition: The FLS-300 light source can be transmitted using a wavelength recognition digital encryption protocol, allowing any compatible device (FPM-300 Power Meter and FOT-300 Optical Loss Test Set) to automatically use the appropriate calibration parameters. With this feature, the amount of communication required between two technicians can be reduced, thus reducing the chance of errors.
Remote referencing: With signal encryption, the receiver can obtain information about the power to be used as a reference, helping to ensure efficient referencing, even when the two devices are very far apart.
The FLS-300 for FTTx :EXFO can test passive optical networks (PONs) at 1310 nm, 1490 nm and 1550 nm, the three wavelengths recommended by the ITU-T (G.983.3) for PONs.
